Scrap suffers as steel sales slow

Ferrous scrap caught the bug afflicting many other recyclables in October, with prices declining typically by around US$ 30 per tonne since our previous report. Latest cfr price indications for shipments to Turkey are as follows: US$ 425-430 per tonne for standard quality HMS I/II 80/20 scrap; US$ 430-435 per tonne for shredded; and US$ 410-415 per tonne for the HMS I/II 70/30 mix.
