Confidence dampened by China factor

Finished paper and board products have become more difficult to sell and market sentiment has dropped to ‘very low’ levels, resulting in a significant weakening in recovered fibre prices over recent weeks, the BIR Paper Round-Table meeting in Munich was told by divisional President Ranjit Baxi. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence in the sector’s ability to overcome the current challenges.
