IL Recycling acquires Kopparbergs

Archiv – One of Sweden’s major recycling and trading companies, IL Recycling AB, has acquired Kopparbergs Skrot och Metall AB, another leading steel scrap and metal recycling companies in Central Sweden. IL Recycling, which is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, bought Kopparbergs from the Einarsson family, who owned the company since 1949.
The company headquarters a scrapyard in Kopparberg, 80 kms north of the town of Örebro. A second scrapyard is in Riddarhyttan and the company is also actively involved in large demolition projects around the country. Kopparbergs has a workforce of twenty and an annual turnover of SEK 134 million (US$ 25.5 million).
’The acquisition of Kopparbergs is vital for IL Recycling,’ says CEO Jan Bruzelius. ’With Kopparbergs´ know-how and resources we can now offer comprehensive recycling services and solutions for steel scrap and metals, electronic waste and cables. We have ambitions and the resources for further development of Kopparbergs.’
Niklas Lindberg has been appointed new CEO of Kopparbergs. Presently with Westinghouse in Västerås, he has previously been Financial Manager at IL Recycling AB. The present CEO and owner of Kopparbergs, Ulf Einarsson, will remain with the company as business development manager.
