Marathon closing manufacturing plant

We greatly appreciate the dedication and contribution of the Clearfield employees since the plant’s opening in 1989,’ says Mike Beuke, VP of Operations at the US company.
Marathon officials are working closely with the PA Dislocated Workers Unit to help the 71 employees impacted by this closing to find other jobs in the community. Workers will continue employment with benefits for 60 days from the announced plant closing on March 17, 2009. According to the Vernon, Alabama headquartered company, it is also working with employees to take advantage of educational opportunities offered by local agencies or schools. In addition, Marathon is offering employees outplacement counseling to include onsite computer access and resume and interview training.
