TiTech optical sorting systems for UK MRF
February 01, 2012 by Editorial Staff
Plant builder McDonald International will install three TiTech autosort optical sorting systems at Devon Contract Waste’s £4.2 million (US$ 6.3 million) Exeter-based plant, which is due to become operational in April and which will process an estimated 75 000 tonnes per annum of commercial and industrial waste, including metals, rigid plastics, wood, plastic film, paper and card.
The near infrared, dual-sensor autosort system is designed to allow maximum value to be extracted from this waste stream. Similar solutions are already being used at locations in Northern Ireland and on mainland Europe.
