Hamburger Recycling takes over Turkish paper recycler

Turkey – Hamburger Recycling, a daughter company of the Austria-based Prinzhorn Group, has acquired paper recycling company Kastaş Kağıt of Izmir in Turkey.

‘With the acquisition of Kastaş, we are happy to have found our perfect match in Turkey,’ comments Hamburger Recycling’s managing director Andreas Walser. ‘It marks a major step towards the supply of our recently-announced paper mill project in Kütahya.’

Kastaş is ‘perfectly set’ to gain a strong foothold in the collection and trading of secondary raw materials for Hamburger Recycling, according to the company.

Now with a total recycling capacity of 145 000 tonnes per annum in Turkey, Hamburger Recycling operates 32 recycling facilities in 12 countries with a total annual handling capacity of 1.3 million tonnes of paper for recycling.
