Mobile phone recycler Zonzoo goes bust

United Kingdom – Zonzoo Group Plc, a specialist in mobile phone collection, recycling and refurbishment, entered into administration on 13 May.

The company, founded in 2001 as Greener Solutions, became an established brand in the UK and beyond. It rebranded as Zonzoo in July 2009 and launched a multimillion-pound TV advertising budget across Europe.

Following an aggressive roll-out of two new countries per month through 2010, Zonzoo built operations in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Austria, Montenegro, Norway and Iceland, backed by its web portal at www.zonzoo.com.

The administrator has launched a fire-sale of the group’s assets, including the brand and various website domain names.
